About Technical Gas Training

We, the directors of Technical Gas Training and GATC Ltd, John & Phil, have over 80 years of combined experience within the gas industry, not just as Managers, Supervisors and the like, but also hands-on experience. Both of us began our careers as apprentices back in the 1970's with British Gas. We have experienced significant changes in the gas industry since the 70's and have a broad knowledge of the requirements this places upon modern gas operatives.

In recent years we have operated abroad and around the UK delivering training and consultancy in a broad range of areas of the gas industry.

When you visit Technical Gas Training Ltd, either for the first time or to renew qualifications with us; you can rest assured that you'll receive instruction from the most experienced team available in a centre which boasts a pass rate well into the high 90's percentile. We have 2 training centres available, based not only at Ferndown, but also in South Wales that will provide you not only gas, but solar thermal, oil, solar PV, Ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps, legionella, solid fuel and many more courses. Our Ferndown Centre is located on the Ferndown Industrial Estate in Dorset address; 31 Telford Road. BH21 &RX.

We also provide for several other businesses spread a little wider across the UK. Technical Gas Training is already a well-established training provider to the gas industry. Customers come to Technical Gas Training because they trust us to deliver what they need. We help you to understand exactly what training and qualifications you’ll require to carry out the gas related work you deliver to your customers. We make sure you receive exactly what you need, without any expensive add-ons. Quality training provided at a reasonable cost to you.

Having established what training you need, we scope out a training program that achieves the training objectives and also fits in with your other commitments. We are here for you. When you contact Technical Gas Training or visit our training centre, you can be sure of a warm welcome, helpful advice and expert training. Our facility contains classrooms, training workshops and separate assessment areas. We also have a comfortable break out area, where the kettle is always on with tea, coffee and biscuits always available. You can bring your own lunch with you, or have our light lunch provided for you.

When you’ve finished your training with Technical Gas Training, the support doesn’t end there; we are always available to you, either on the phone or by email. We support our candidates long after they’ve completed their initial training. Your training records will be held at the centre but available to you 100% of the time, either on-line or from the office. We will assist to remind you when your qualifications need renewing and advise you of any changes or new requirements that come into force. You can rely upon our post-training support and in helping keep you up to date.

TGT Ltd only utilises highly experienced instructors and assessors, all of whom also have significant experience of the gas industry, in their own right. In recent years we have operated abroad and around the UK delivering training and consultancy in a broad rage of area of the gas industry.

Hi all, I'd just like to say what a pleasure it was this week to be assessed at GATC. I always enter and leave with a smile which is a testament to everyone at the centre. Firstly, it was the first time I had met Andrew Allen. He is a fantastic trainer and is very knowledgeable and came across as really experienced. He delivered a great 3 day session whilst also ensuring that all learners were catered for when covering the theory elements. Each session was delivered in a timely fashion as per the lesson plan. And I didn't hear a negative thing from any of the learners. So well done on a great delivery. Secondly, John was excellent at raising the spirits of everyone; his dry wit 😀 certainly made us have a laugh, during what some may have felt as a daunting assessment. Which was nice to see, especially to put people at ease. He is very thorough with his assessment style. And will not leave you until those keywords have been spoken/practically demonstrated to ensure understanding of said topic. Great assessor and very knowledgeable. Well done. Thirdly, Ian was also very thorough with his assessment theory papers. All documents were pre- loaded onto the laptops in readiness for each learner. Everything was explained as per assessment protocol. He made us all feel at ease and ready to undertake assessment. I'd also like to thank Claire for adding the appliances onto my assessment. Apologies if there was an oversight. And thanks to John for taking the extra time to allow me to complete them within the allotted timeframes. And Ashley for being the IT guru👍. So thanks all for everything. Keep up the good work. No doubt I'll be back for my REGT1 in the new year.

A great place to learn

Technical Gas Training centre was founded in 2007 by Deric Whitney. In 2018 Technical Gas Training Ltd became part of GATC Ltd based in South Wales. The centre delivers training for over 40 courses covering a spectrum of approximately 50 qualifications within the gas industry.
